Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Changing of piercing.
We change jewelry once the piercing is fully healed — timing varies by location. Piercers evaluate tissue, irritation, and healing before swapping. If uncertain, book a consult and we’ll assess readiness and recommend the safest option.
Most clients experience minimal discomfort during a jewelry change. The process is quick and uses gentle techniques, often less painful than the initial piercing. Our piercers take extra care for sensitive clients and use appropriate jewelry to minimize irritation.
Implant-grade titanium, niobium, and 14k–18k solid gold are best for sensitive skin. Avoid plated or low-quality metals. Our team will recommend hypoallergenic options and can switch materials to reduce allergic reactions or prolonged irritation.
Timing depends on piercing type: earlobes may be ready in 6–8 weeks while cartilage, tongue, and other areas can take three to six months or longer. We evaluate each client to ensure it’s safe to change jewelry.
Appointments are recommended so we can prepare suitable jewelry, sanitize instruments, and give you full attention. Walk-ins are accepted when available, but booking ensures a seamless visit and access to our lounge amenities.
After the change, clean with sterile saline twice daily, avoid touching or twisting jewelry, keep hair and makeup away, and monitor for redness, swelling, or discharge. Contact us promptly if you notice worrying signs or need follow-up care.
